2009年2月 洛杉矶/长滩将实施Clean Truck Fee计划-2009年1月23日

Dear Valued Matson Customer:

The Port of Long Beach will be implementing fees associated with their Clean Truck program effective February 18.  Trucks that do not meet the program’s emissions standards will be charged $35/20’ container and $70/40’-45’ container.  Beneficial cargo owners are responsible for the fee.

While Matson is not involved in the administering of the program, new processes will be required that will impact some of our customers.  The following is an updated synopsis of what Matson import customers can expect:

“Local” Cargo:
This process impacts all cargo picked up by truck from our off dock container yard, Shipper’s Transport Express (STE). 

  • All Matson “local” customers should register with Shipper’s Transport through their website, www.shipperstransport.com, or through www.emodal.com .
  • Shipper’s Transport will “claim” all Matson local cargo in the PortCheck system.  Importers do not need to claim cargo in PortCheck.
  • All CY and Store Door cargo will be staged at STE’s facility in Carson, CA (same as our current process).
  • When picking up cargo at STE, Dray Surcharge fees will be assessed on trucks that do not meet Clean Truck program standards.
  • Cargo must be claimed in STE’s website prior to pick uponlywhen “clean” trucks are not used.
  • For “clean” trucks picking up at STE, claiming is not necessary and no fee will be assessed.

 

Intermodal Cargo:
The intermodal process impacts all cargo moving by rail to the country’s interior:

  • Matson Integrated Logistics will “claim” all cargo and move it to our rail yard.
  • All cargo will be trucked with “clean” trucks and there will be no added expense for Matson customers.
